Fish and crayfish basins

There’s either a regular or a floating model to choose from for the fish and crayfish hatchery. Operating efficiency is good, installation and service easy. Similarly, capacity enhancement is  straightforward. If in question is a smaller fish farm, aeration can be set to precisely right output using the frequency transformer and oxygen meter. This way an excellent operating efficiency is achieved without wasting any energy at all.

Fish basins

Salmonoids are especially demanding about water quality and high oxygen content. The oxygen concentration should be kept at least 5 mg/l throughout the year. This ensures good condition of fish and facilitates quick maturity without disturbances.

Sufficient oxygen content near the basin bottom (2 mg/l) prevents leaching of nutrients and in particular phosphor into the water. Dissolved nutrients have a detrimental impact on water quality and – at worst  – can cause growth of cyanobacterium. Furthermore, nutrients can transfer from fish basins to cause loading on other waterways.

The Waterix AIRIT® product family has aerators to match different fish hatchery basin sizes. Waterix can help you to choose the right device – just contact us! The operating efficiency of Waterix AIRIT® aerator is very high – energy consumption remains low.

Crayfish basins

Also the crayfish is a very demanding species when it comes to the quality of water. One of the most important facts is the sufficient content of oxygen concentration in water. Actually the crayfish is just as demanding as salmonoids about oxygen content. During warmer seasons oxygen content of the water should be at least 5 mg/l (oxygen saturation at least 50 %). In the winter the crayfish can adapt to short periods with 2 – 3 mg/l content if all the other environmental conditions are favorable.

Crayfish basins are rather small usually, so Waterix AIRIT® Micro is an excellent choice. The device is lightweight but boasts exceptionally high operating efficiency and output. AIRIT® Micro ensures oxygen content throughout the crayfish basin is always in excess of 5 mg/l. This enables the crayfish maturity period to be perfect in respect to oxygen content.

AIRIT® Micro can be used throughout the year or when the water starts to stratify. Use is focused on late summer and early spring.
